Mom Meetup | Erin

Bring your speed down a notch, as we reflect with Erin on her experiences as a mom, and now a nana.

Erin

  • Mom of 2 girls and 1 boy, Nana to 15
  • Mom theme song: Ain't no mountain high enough...to keep me from getting to you!

What's one of your earliest memories?

Fishing with my Dad on a little creek.

What was the most trouble you ever got in as a kid?

Lying to my mom about an apple in my lunch that I didn't eat... received a spanking when dad came home from work!

Any 'oh sh**' moments as a mom?

Zipping my 5 year old son's pants in a dressing room and having him exclaim in pain...

Was there something your parents did when you were a kid that you swore you'd never do yourself?

"Clean your dinner plate!"

What's the hardest thing about being a mom?

Patience for me and slowing down to enjoy the silly times while speeding along to get things done.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom?

All the hugs when kids are little and true friendship now that they are all grown.

What's one thing you would have done differently as a mom?

I would have asked more questions of my teenagers and not simple yes or no questions.

What has been the best milestone so far?

Seeing my children be successful in life.

Any advice for a mom just starting out, or about to have a babe?

Be patient, loving and enjoy those quiet nighttime moments.

Do you think it's easier or harder to be a mom now than when you were raising a family?

Probably harder now with information being so accessible and computers and screen time being challenging to monitor.
