Time to get your camera ready to capture your nine months in, nine months out photo! Can you believe that your little love has now been outside the womb just as long as they were growing inside your belly? If there is a time to sit and reflect on all of the amazing things that your body has done to bring that sweet babe into your arms, this is a great moment to do that. You grew a human, after all!
Nine months also bring a lot of sentimental feelings for new parents. During this stage of growth, your little one is probably starting to look a little bit more like….gasp…a toddler, even though they are still an infant. Their physical appearance is changing on a daily basis; just another reason to make sure you are capturing monthly (heck, even weekly!)milestone photos.
Month nine is also a time for celebration because you have probably gotten to a point where you have found your groove as a parent. It takes some time to find it, believe me, but when you do, you feel like you can conquer anything that comes your way. And you can, because moms are rockstars!
Before we get started with our list, I want to encourage you to check out a completely FREE resource I have created for you. It’s called 5 Secrets to Stunning Photos At-Home and it is a must-have guide for new moms who:
If this is your first time here, welcome! We are currently working our way through the whole first year of baby’s life by highlighting the sweet, sassy, salty, and just plain fun baby milestones that happen during monthly increments.Start here with month one and work your way through, I promise there is so much that you can capture on camera right in the comfort of your own home!
Ok, mama let’s jump right in! There is so much to be celebrated during month nine.
The first time they wave.Whether it is hello or good-bye, this simple hand movement is equally as cute. You also might see them noticing where you keep the snacks and pointing and waving in that direction, too!
The first night in a full-size crib.Nine months old is the average time that your pediatrician will recommend that baby goes from a bassinet into a full-size crib in their own room. Don’t forget to mark that memory!
Baby has mastered crawling or slithering.Your little one is on the move and there is no slowing them down. You might need to have your phone set to video mode to capture this one.
Baby starts to babble. I mean, isn’t this the cutest thing ever? There is nothing quite like those first sweet babbles of “ma ma” or most likely “da da” …because, of course.
Baby stands without assistance. Not to freak you out or anything, but we all know what comes after standing without assistance. We can’t avoid it, unfortunately. My only advice is to get a really great pair of running shoes because your little love will be quicker on two feet than they were on all fours!
Baby begins to open and close objects. At nine months your little one is starting to take note of how things work and becoming increasingly more curious every single day. Part of this curiosity is opening and closing objects that they can get their hands on, so make sure all your lowest cabinets have been secured shut.
Baby's personality is on full display. By nine months, most babies are not shy about showing their emotions or their personality traits. You might start to see that stubborn streak (inherited from your partner, or course), you can tell when they're happy, or when they have their mind set on something. Some babies also start showing shyness or stranger danger.
Which baby milestone photo are you ready to capture on camera first? So many to choose from! I think one of my favorites of the boys was when they started waving hello and good-bye, it is just so joyful to see them beginning to greet you. If you have already gotten yourself a set ofmilestone cards, milestone blocks, ormilestone printables, make sure that you tag us in yourInstagram photos for a chance to be featured in our social media feeds!
